WHAT'S EXPECTED?

Children's Ministry is the PRIMARY ROLE for this position. Our new Children's Ministry Director will lead the Children's Ministry Team in designing a ministry to fulfill our vision of leading as many children as possible into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Working with volunteers and the support of other staff, you will cast a vision and implement a children's ministry that intentionally helps children from brith through 5th grade come to know Jesus and develop a growing relationship with Him, learn from His Word, build a biblical worldview, and participate in the mission of God in our city by loving others.

You will also work with our Youth Director to design and implement events, ministries, and programs that will help older elementary and younger middle school students make the transition from children's to youth ministry.

Additionally, as Communication Director, you will spend some time each week (5-10 hours) overseeing church communications to the congregation and community through social media and electronic communication-- including supervising the church database.


WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCEED IN THIS ROLE?

  • Experience working with children in a church or ministry environment (paid or volunteer)

  • Desire to grow a Children's Ministry and to personally grow professionally as a Children's Minister
  • Ability to utilize technology and social media and/or willingness to learn and grow these skills
  • Basic level of biblical knowledge and understanding and desire to continually grow
  • Agreement with and support of HCC's mission and core values and with the Essential Tenets of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (see our website - www.highlinecc.org - for more info)
  • Formal education in early childhood development or Christian Ministry (or related field) a plus
