Purpose

The Director of Youth Ministry will oversee the development, coordination, and training for all youth and children’s ministries with a focus on the senior high students. We seek someone to develop and deepen personal relationships with students, helping them see their identity in Christ, realize that they belong in the family of God, and have purpose from God in this life.

Essential Duties: Director of Youth Ministry

● Focus on 9th-12th grade networking, mentoring and relationship building

● Develop theme and curriculum for middle and high school ministry along with coordinating and facilitating weekly activities

● Recruit and retain a healthy volunteer leadership team that includes Sunday School teachers and Youth Ministry leaders

● Train leaders and teachers, providing resources for volunteers to grow in their leadership abilities

● Plan curriculum for Sunday School (ages 3-grade 12) with the Education Committee

Position Qualifications

● Obtained a bachelor’s degree with a focus in one of the Biblical studies: theology, ministry, worship or related fields

● Expresses a clear testimony of personal faith that agrees with a Biblical worldview

● Exhibits leadership qualities that inspires leadership in others casting vision into the youth ministry

● Collaborates well with other leadership/staff/volunteers

● Displays strong interpersonal relational skills

● Self-motivated, efficient, and organized

Position Specifications

● Part-time, salaried position, with possible variable hours weekly (average 25-30 hours/week)

● Salary dependent on prior experience and level of education

● Directly reports to Senior Pastor with some updates given to council as requested
