Overview

The Student Ministry Pastor of Waynesburg First Assembly of God will primarily oversee and provide direct leadership to our middle and high school students. This pastor will also serve as our Media Director. We are looking for a pastor who will be loyal to the vision and staff in order to protect the unity of our church family.

We give honor to the exposition and preaching of Scripture through the Word of God. We exist to be “A loving church family, worshiping God and serving people together.” Our church desires to have incredible moments growing in our relationships with each other and the Lord, so we can go out and accomplish incredible things for God as we walk in the power of the Holy Spirit every day. Location: Waynesburg is the county seat of Greene County, PA. It is a small town located about ½ an hour north of Morgantown, WV and ½ hour south of Washington, PA. We are about 1 hour south of Pittsburgh. There are 48,000 people within 15 miles of our church.

 

Student Ministry Responsibilities

  • To lead the youth ministry program for 6th-12th grade students in large groups, small groups, and one-on-one ministry.
  • To teach God’s Word in a relatable way with anointed excellence. 
  • To recruit, train, and organize a youth leadership team.
  • To develop and maintain a relationship with the local Jr. High and Sr. High schools through prayer and participating with the local youth pastors’ group in the school campus clubs.
  • To partner effectively with parents for the training of their students.
  • To maintain, track, and adhere to a budget as related to youth ministry areas. 
  • To plan and lead retreats, trips, and other special events that provide spiritual growth opportunities for our students.
  • To create and implement proper promotion for all events and programming. 
  • To oversee the youth ministry departments (Fine Arts, Bible Quiz, Worship Team, Missions, Life Groups)
  • To possess a strong heart for students and families. 
  • To develop and foster the students to have a heart for the lost including participating in outreaches, acts of service, and speed the light.


Media Responsibilities

  • The Media Director’s responsibility will be to support the ministries and vision of the church by overseeing our audio, video, and lighting (AVL) production needs and leading in the area of videography and media creation (MC). 
  • To build and train teams (relating to church media) as needed.
  • To oversee and provide technical support to our online campus.


Other Responsibilities

  • To oversee and provide vision to the volunteer team in our Young Adults Program.
  • To connect relationally with church families and guests. 
  • To assist in the follow-up and assimilation of all first-time on-campus and online guests.
  • To assist with worship in our Sunday services through singing and / or playing an instrument (as gifted).

 

Education and Experience

  • Have a solid rooting in Assemblies of God theology.
  • The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in a field relating to Biblical Studies, Theology, or Church Ministry.
  • Demonstrate a passion for youth ministry and seeing teens grow in their relationship with God.
  • Applicant will have a good reputation, actively living a Godly life above reproach, and be qualified for ministry as outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
  • Applicant should be licensed or ordained with the Assemblies of God or actively pursuing credentials with the Assemblies of God.
  • The candidate will be a team player, have a strong work ethic and have a deep desire to see people grow deeper in their relationship with the Lord.
