Discipleship Pastor

Faith Church of Allentown, PA is in search of a Discipleship Pastor. This is a new position that will create, develop, oversee, and implement spiritual development opportunities for adults at Faith Church. The Discipleship Pastor will build a system for discipleship so that every person who comes to Faith Church can clearly identify his/her “next step” in following Jesus. Faith Church is a unique church family in a post-christian northeast environment that needs someone who understands this part of the country.

What you’ll be doing:

• Create and develop programs, processes, and pathways for adults to grow spiritually
• Create, implement, and develop curriculum for adult discipleship and education
• Recruit, equip, coach, and support adult ministries leaders
• Teach or coordinate the teaching of classes
• Develop advanced discipleship and leadership pathway opportunities, e.g., mentoring
• Oversee and promote churchwide teaching and lectures

What you need to have:

• A shepherd’s heart with a proven track record of developing systems and growing disciples
• Knowledge and understanding of scriptures and theology
• Excellent coaching and group facilitation skills
• Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Solid writing ability, preferably in curriculum design and instructional theory
• Passion for developing systems

Located in Lehigh Valley, Faith Church is about an hour and a half from Philadelphia and New York City. Some Lehigh Valley attractions include covered bridges, Lehigh Valley Zoo, art museum, Lehigh Valley Velodrome, and the Dorney Amusement Park.
