Job Description

Reports Directly to: Lead Pastor

Directly Oversees: Worship Pastor, Technical Director, Communications Director, and Facilities Director.

Works Closely with: Lead Pastor and Directional Team (Love, Mend, Train, Send)


Responsible for overseeing Love Ministries. Will ensure weekly services are effective, creative, and well organized. They will maintain complete confidentiality, assist as needed in crisis situations, and serve as an aid to the congregation, other staff, and the Lead Pastor.

• Lead/Oversee – The Community Pastor will lead and oversee Love Ministries (services, worship, events, communication/promotions, and various ministries such as men’s and women’s ministries). They will lead our primary church services (creative direction, guest services, ushers and greeters, livestream, etc). They will lead Frontline meetings (this meeting discusses service plans, worship sets, and sermon series). They will also oversee the

Communications department to ensure events are properly communicated to the church. They

will provide leadership and oversight to key ministry leaders (men’s, women’s and hospitality).

• Participate/Attend – The Community Pastor will participate in Directional Meetings

with other executive leaders of The Highlands Vision (Love, Mend, Train, Send). They will also participate in staff trainings as scheduled. The Community Pastor will find creative ways of incorporating discipleship and outreach focuses throughout the Love ministries.

• Pray/Care – The Community Pastor, along with the rest of the staff, will make prayer a priority, and be available to pray with our church community when needed.


• Serve in a “hungry, humble, smart” capacity shared from The Ideal Team Player book.

• Has a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Committed to personal growth, servant leadership, and healthy relationships.

• Is a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Can demonstrate previous success and an ongoing ability in recruiting, training, and supporting volunteers.

• Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred, and vocational ministry experience required.
