The Role: The Children's Ministry Director/Pastor will oversee ministry for the children ages birth through 5th Grade.

Reports To: Next Generation Pastor

 

Meet Freedom Church: Freedom Church exists to lead people to a vibrant relationship with Jesus. We started as a plant in 2013 with just 75 people and have grown significantly in the past seven years. We have baptized over 150 people and are centered around making disciples. In August 2019 we purchased a shopping center plaza and that new facility will serve as our worship site beginning in December 2020. This new facility will feature a cafe, new childrens and youth facilites and state-of-the-art worship center.

 

About the Children's Ministry Director/Pastor: Freedom Kids exists to help children know and understand who Jesus is. The Director of Kids will play an integral role in furthering this vision through oversight of Freedom Kids birth through fifth grade. The Director/Pastor should have a heart for kids and experience ministering to children and parents. Serving a growing ministry, the director should be energized by recruiting, developing, training, and discipling volunteer leaders.

 

The Children's Ministry Director/Pastor will:

  • Oversee ministry from Birth through 5th grade in partnership with the Next Gen Pastor
  • Establish annual ministry goals for Early Childhood and Elementary that are consistent with overall mission, vision and values of Freedom Church
  • Provide support and development through quarterly training and nurturing of Early Childhood and Elementary volunteers
  • Provide administrative leadership for long-range planning, budgeting, and calendar coordination
  • Manage Freedom Kids operations with Planning Center, including regularly scheduling volunteers
  • Create and maintain an annual calendar of events, programs, trips, and retreats (i.e. Kindergarten Orientation, summer events, CIY Superstart, etc...)
  • Develop Freedom's pre-teen ministry, Freedom 345, through monthly gatherings 
  • Manage an annual budget that reflects Freedom Kids annual goals and vision 
  • Ensure that all volunteers comply with the Safe Spaces Policy, including: screening, background checks, safety training, etc...
  • Motivates and empowers team members; sets expectations 
  • Holds regularly scheduled team meetings and keeps the team informed 
  • Develops an Elementary volunteer teaching team that will rotate and serve as the primary teachers on Sunday mornings

 

What You Bring: 

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • 3-5 years experience in Children’s Ministry
