VKIDS COORDINATOR

Reports to: VKids Director

Hours: Full time (40 hours)

Work Days: Sunday-Thursday


The VKids Coordinator will work alongside the VKids Director to assist in the weekly running of the Children’s Ministry from preparation to Sunday delivery. The VKids coordinator must have a thorough understanding of the Gospel and be able to communicate the Gospel to children.


RESPONSIBILITIES


Online VKids

  • Assist in creating content for VKids online weekly service. This includes creative planning with the VKids director and recording segments in our VKids studios.
  • Assist with, or lead Zoom meetings with kids
  • Take the lead in creating a short mid week video for preschool kids
  • Create fun activity packs for online/print for preschoolers
  • Assist in planning, preparing and delivering mid week family ‘hangs’ in a park
  • Assist with admin, including support with Facebook live events
  • Create online curriculum each week following the planned curriculum structure
  • Assist in creating any VKids packets to be picked up by parents



In-person VKids (when this restarts in 2021)

  • Assist the VKids director in the entire re-launch of in person VKids - including, but not limited to
  • Recruiting volunteers using Planning Center workflow system
  • Administrate all volunteer admin such as background checks, ministry safe training and volunteer training.
  • Becoming confident with the planning center check in process
  • Confident leading out any VKids room from 0-5th grade
  • Assist with planning and preparing curriculum for 2 year olds-5th grade
  • Set up activity rooms for 2 year olds-5th grade every week
  • Ensure compliance with Child Protection policies including guidelines on ratios, leaders, health and safety and criminal checks
  • Lead out volunteer ‘huddle’ before each service - including praying for the team and talking through how the morning will run.
  • Vital team member of VKIDS for FOCUS (annual weekend retreat) planning and delivery.
  • Assist in planning, set up, tear down and running of all VKids events.
  • Communicating with parents via the weekly VKids newsletter
  • Helping to lead out action songs in VKids sessions and in main church services when required (Christmas and Easter)

  • Relationship with Jesus
  • Excited about helping kids grow in their faith
  • Confident interacting with children both in person and on zoom
  • Creative
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking both in person and in front of a camera
  • Fun, outgoing, and enthusiastic attitude
  • Ability to work on own initiative as well as in a team
  • Strong admin and time management skills
  • Uphold the vision and values of Vintage Church
  • Physical requirements: standing, walking, bending, kneeling. Able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Expected to work Sundays, some evenings when required, Christmas Eve, and Easter
