Bethel Church in Devils Lake, North Dakota is currently seeking a Pastor of Next Gen. This person will lead the Underground youth ministries (7-12th) and provide administrative oversight of our kids ministries (Nursery-6th) and college ministry. Ideal goals include working alongside the Next Gen council to train, staff, and multiply leaders to continue to provide excellent weekly programs and events, building a parent communication and equipping strategy in the first few years and building strategic relationships with the local middle and high schools and homeschool group.
What you’ll be doing:
• Taking responsibility for all aspects of Bethel Church’s youth ministry, the Underground
• Raising up, equipping, mobilizing and encouraging a dynamic team of adults to serve across our Next Gen ministries
• Investing in the development of a dynamic student leadership team
• Creating a safe and fun environment for students to come and experience God
• Holding a weekly service or ministry time for both middle school and high school students
Skills you’ll need to have:
• A strong personal commitment to maintaining a healthy relationship with Jesus
• Possess a “servant leader” leadership philosophy
• Genuine love for youth and the ability to naturally relate and build relationships
• Experience building, leading, equipping and motivating volunteer leaders and teams of people
• Active and relevant student ministry leadership experience
• Excellent communication skills: written, verbal and interpersonal
The town of Devils Lake is a community of around 7,500 that often swells when fishing, hunting and other outdoor activities are at their peak. The tourism industry keeps the area vibrant. The community has a hospital, Lake Region State College, many parks, many restaurants, and more. Many area residents are very active. In the summer there is an abundance of outdoor activities, community events, and children’s programs. The Devils Lake School District provides a great education and many programs for students. Besides the offerings right in Devils Lake, most residents of Devils Lake find it easy to utilize cultural, recreational and shopping resources in Grand Forks and Fargo.
