Job Description

Vision Baptist Church of Raleigh, NC is seeking a full-time Pastor of Students and Discipleship. We are looking for an outgoing, energetic, loving pastor to join our team to focus on reaching and impacting the youth in the 919 and discipling the members of Vision Baptist Church.

Student Ministry
- Are you up to the challenge of creating a Biblical, fresh, innovative student ministry?
- Can you create and build a strong student ministry?
- Are you a flexible risk-taker who wants to work alongside an established, fun-loving, hard-working staff and lead pastor with great vision?
- Do you have a passion to magnify the Lord and lead students to walk with Him and make disciples?

Discipleship
- If you are passionate about seeing disciples make disciples, this is for you. Must be able to lead our LifeGroup Ministry, be excited about getting people connected to others and to the ministries of Vision, and be a person who can plan, implement, and lead outreach/discipleship events throughout the year.

Responsibilities:
Student Pastor (50%)
- Oversee Student Ministry
- Plan, meet, and coordinate on a weekly basis with Kid’s Director and Lead Pastor to ensure continuity ministry wide. Submit yearly calendar and budget each year.
- Consistently strategize and implement strategies on how to grow our student ministry (spiritually & numerically)
- Plan and lead at least one mission trip/camp experience per year
- Plan and lead at least one event per quarter
- Maintain an online and social media presence for student ministry (at least one social media post per week)
- Visit with students and leaders outside of worship gatherings
- Communicate with parents on a regular basis (at least a monthly reminder on what’s going on). Use GroupMe, Email, and social media.
Oversee Student Ministry Worship Gathering
- Lead Student Worship Gathering
- Maintain and update supplies and equipment for the Student Ministry
- Oversight of Student Ministry Check-In procedures and programs
- Lead and observe the Vision Students Dream Team (volunteers) to ensure consistency in practice (including scheduling)
- Maintain an online and social media presence for student ministry (at least one social media post per week)
- Visit with students and leaders outside of worship gatherings
- Communicate with parents on a regular basis (at least a monthly reminder on what’s going on). Use GroupMe, Email, and social media.2.

Disciple-Making Responsibilities (50%)
Oversee Membership
- Oversight of Connect Class
- Oversight of membership process
- Oversight of pre-membership interviews
Oversee Life Group Ministry.
- Oversight of assimilation
- Oversight of Life Group Leader meetings and trainings
- Oversight of vision for Life Groups
Oversee Discipleship/Outreach Events.
- #FOR919 (Serve Week)
- Develop a #FOR919 team
- Oversight of #FOR919 meeting’s agenda
- Oversight of #FOR919 week
Oversight of Discipleship Classes & Studies
- Serve Saturdays
- Plan Serve Saturdays
- Oversight of events and leaders
- Oversight of Bible Studies, Classes & Events
Preach Occasionally.
- 4-8x/year

Requirements:
- Love God and His Word.
- Love others.
- Has a desire to serve and impact students, their families, and the church.
- Love reaching those searching and in need of spiritual truth.
- Able to prepare and teach the Scriptures in a manner that is culturally relevant to students, leading them to Jesus and deeper in their walk with Him.
- Believes students are not just the future of the church but vital to the health of the church today.
- Must be culturally aware, media connected, and technologically proficient.
- Has a high commitment to the local church.
- Meets the Biblical qualification of a church leader (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:7-9).
- Is a team player and team builder.
- Has strong interpersonal skills.
- Is a continually growing leader.
- Has a positive attitude.
- Is a self-starter and hard worker.
- Previous experience preferred but not required.
