Job Description We are seeking a full-time pastor to lead, minister to and serve our church. The duties will be typical for a pastor of a small church with only one minister. The search committee must feel the clear leadership of the Holy Spirit to call this pastor. Also, this pastor must convince the committee of his deep-seated and heart-felt calling by God to serve our church. Toward that end, the following is a description of our church: Our main sanctuary seats about 200 people. Adjacent to our sanctuary is an educational building with dining capability. This building also contains classrooms and a nursery. Our current average attendance at Sunday morning worship is about 75 people. Many of our current active membership are over the age of 55. We are blessed to have dedicated young people as well Part-time Staff: Secretary Custodian REQUIREMENTS: 1. Prefer 5 years senior pastor experience 2. At least a seminary degree 3. Sense of humor, encourager, motivator, organizer, unity builder 4. Excellent preaching and teaching skills 5. Ability & desire to provide oversight and direction to our children & youth ministry 6. Prior to 1923 it was known as the Cherokee Mission. We are located on the Qualla Boundary which are the tribal lands of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. Our members include tribal and non-tribal members. Our town and community is located in the beautiful Smoky Mountains. Opportunities for outdoor recreation abound.
