The former Franklin Congregational Church of Franklin, CT was a historic church in a rural, stable town of roughly 2000 people that no longer has a thriving, Bible-believing church. We are looking for a pastor with a vision for a new church plant from the legacy of the old, by engaging and reaching the community. The church currently has 10 members who seek to be part of the future. The new pastor will work hand in hand with The Nineveh Network of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference to develop a plan for this new work.
Qualifications
- Personal, growing relationship with Jesus
- Passion for multiplying disciples of Jesus
- Bachelor’s degree (M. Div. preferred or in pursuit)
- Ability to catalyze new ministries as well as think and plan strategically
- Willing to complete a church planting assessment and receive ongoing training and coaching through the Nineveh Network
- Possess or pursue ministerial credentials and maintain church standing with the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference
- Affirmation of the Statement of Faith of the Conservative Congregational Christian Conference
Duties
- Be the spiritual leader of the congregation
- Build relationships with people in the area
- Recruit a launch team and formulate a church plant strategy
- Organize and execute pre-launch outreach events and pre-view services
- Cast vision and provide direction for staff, volunteers, and the congregation
- Recruit, and equip staff and volunteers to participate as leaders of ministry areas
- Implement ongoing strategic ministry plans for discipleship and evangelism
- Oversee and manage operations within a financial plan and church governance.
- Plan and conduct worship services, develop sermons, plan with music leadership and lead in the observance of ordinances.
- Conduct other pastoral duties as needed.
