SUMMARY

The Video Director fosters a worship environment where people can hear the gospel and experience God. To accomplish this, the Video Director ensures that all visuals and screen projections serve this purpose, removing the distractions in worship services. During worship services their focus is on making sure the video, projection and livestream components are carried out effectively. Additionally, the Video Director oversees the maintenance and provision of equipment and resources for video.

 

The Video Director reports directly to the Director of Worship.

 

The role is approximately 6-10 hours per week with additional hours expected at peak times, such as Christmas and Easter.

 

As with all positions at Prince of Peace, the Video Director must adhere to the policies outlined in the employee handbook, and perform all tasks and duties with honor, respect, diligence, and a commitment to the Church’s Statement of Faith.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1.     Effectively manage and oversee video and production for all corporate worship services, including Sunday morning services, seasonal midweek services, and Celebration of Life services (funerals).

2.     Recruit, train, coordinate and equip volunteers to run cameras, video switcher (dashboard), livestream and presentation software (Easy Worship) during services in a way that advances the vision and mission of Prince of Peace.

3.     Prepare systems, materials, and visuals to support all rehearsals and services. This includes the weekly creation of the presentation software cue (Easy Worship).

4.     Ensure the set-up of all video equipment needs for all rehearsals and services.

5.     Support live-stream equipment and process.

6.     Maintain and make recommendations for purchasing and updating video equipment.

7.     Troubleshoot technical problems with all video and livestream equipment.

8.     Assist the Worship Director as needed with other video projects (e.g., video editing).

 

QUALIFICATIONS

In addition, the individual must exhibit the following qualifications:

1.     Strong Christ-like servant leader with skills to gracefully communicate with, recruit, train, equip, coordinate, and coach volunteers.

2.     Accustomed to working in a dynamic high-tech environment

3.     Excellent written and verbal communication skills

4.     Able to work independently and in a team environment

5.     At least 1 – 3 years of experience in video and related production work.

6.     Must work well under pressures of live production, deadlines, diverse volunteers, and ministry vision parameters.

7.     Proficient with operating cameras (manual and robotic) and a video switcher, and an aptitude for learning new skills and training other people.

8.     Knowledge of video equipment and editing software

 

PREFERENCES

1.     Experience in all facets of live production.

2.     Experience in video editing

3.     Familiarity with Easy Worship, Ross Carbonite Dashboard, Ross and Panasonic PTZ cameras, Black Magic Web Presenter, and Black Magic Hyperdeck Studio Mini

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

At least 1 – 2 years of experience in video and production and editing. No relevant education is mandatory, but experience with all facets of video production (producing, editing, etc.…) is strongly preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

This position required the ability to read and interpret complex documents, such as safety rules, employee handbooks and procedure manuals, and the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. This position also required to ability to speak confidently and effectively to volunteers, parents, and groups of people.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

This position required the ability to add and subtract decimals in relationship to timesheets and perform basic mathematical computations.

 

REASONING ABILITY

This position requires the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form, and the ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

No certifications, licenses, or registrations are required for this position.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, climb, and/or kneel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision.
