Job Description

WCBC is looking for a “Jeremiah-type” family man who is called of God to minister the Word in this peculiar, multi-faceted community. Bible College is a must, Seminary is preferred. He will need a missionary heart and vision, while he faithfully “feeds the flock” (Jn.21:17, Acts 20:28-32, I Pet.5:1-3). He will need to carefully balance his time between marriage and family, personal prayer, studying, office/administration/board, meetings, counseling, visitation, secretarial, discipleship, evangelism, volunteer recruitment, training and oversight, plus “normal” community activities outside the church. It is a challenging tightrope to walk in a small church and community, but God’s grace is sufficient – plus he is not alone. WCBC’s elder board and other elected officers are his “fellow team members” who are “with him” in the ministry and sharing his burdens.

The applicant must agree with the WCBC Statement of Faith and be willing to work within the framework of the WCBC Constitution. Please email for a digital copy. He must complete, sign, and submit the “WCBC Pastor Application Form” (separate form). An applicant who seems like a good fit will be contacted for a phone/Zoom interview with the Pulpit Committee. If that goes well, he will be invited to candidate, according to the Constitution, and then be voted by the congregation.

About Williams Community Bible Church

Besides our weekly Sunday School, Worship Service, Prayer Meeting, Men’s Breakfast, and Food Share (since ’88); WCBC promotes the gospel through VBS, Good News Club/Release Time, Bible Camps, Community Church Sing and Ice-Cream Social, women’s and youth activities – plus our ambitious foreign missions program.

Demographic changes and Covid-19 have affected WCBC attendance over the last several years.  In the 90’s, attendance was about 50, with membership in the high 40’s. In 2021, both are in the mid-30’s.
