Position Title: Worship Director and Coordinator

Classification: Part-time/Non-exempt

Salary: Based on experience

Environment: Growing non-denomination, purpose-driven congregation

Hours: Up to 20 hours combined per week as follows:

• Tuesday evening practice, 7:00-9:00 PM
• Sunday 7:00 AM to noon.
• Preparation hours as required

Reports to: Board of Elders, work directly with volunteers and Sunday Service Producer and technical lead.

Summary

The Worship Director and Coordinator (worship leader) will oversee and coordinate the musical details of the worship portion of each service, including song, singer, and instrumentation selections. The worship director must be a visionary who is creative in leading people to God thru music and is a leader who can communicate a direction in a way that inspires those around him/her to join in the pursuit of that vision. This position requires the individual to serve not solely as a musical or performing arts leader but also as an encourager to the people who serve in this ministry. Team building is a must. 

Essential Functions

• Ability to lead the congregation in worship solo or as a team performer
• Recruiting and building team members of all skill levels: singers and musicians
• Ability to plan special services around the holidays or other events

Qualifications

• A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a vital, growing personal relationship with Him.
• Commitment to moral purity.
• Commitment to the mission and vision of the Faith Fellowship Church of Baltimore, Inc.
• Must become a member and active part of the body at Faith Fellowship Church of Baltimore, Inc.
• Demonstrated excellence as a worship director, i.e. has grown a music ministry over the past 5 years.
• A heart for the spiritual formation of those in the congregation and the worship ministry.
• Relational skills and an enthusiastic presence for leading a church in worship.

Skills

• Skilled guitar or keyboard player (Both a plus). Additional instruments are also a plus.
• Ability to transpose keys and write out chorded lead sheets
• Skilled in vocal, and instrumental direction.
• Skilled in organization, administration, and interpersonal relationships.
• Ability to incorporate other art forms as needed.
• A self-starter
• A team player with a positive attitude.

Responsibilities:

• Selection of songs and appropriate keys
• Lead all worship on Sunday’s and special events
• Recruitment and building of church volunteers into worship teams
• Rehearse all teams on Tuesday evenings. (Evening flexible around church and participant schedules)
• Assist in the use of sound, lighting, computers, ProPresenter, and video projection for all worship services
