Job Description

Living Word Community Church was founded 16 years ago in Carnation, WA. We are a small body of believers (10-20 in attendance weekly), financially sound, non-denominational, bible believing/teaching, elder-led church. Our part-time staff consists of a part-time admin person, a bookkeeper and a worship director. Carnation is a tight-knit community with a population of approximately 2400, and the surrounding area is growing exponentially with many new families moving in. This creates a great opportunity to grow with the community and reach families, sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.

 

Candidate must meet the qualifications of an elder and will also become a member of the elder board. He must demonstrate a deep personal relationship with Jesus Christ, which is evidenced in daily life and exhibited through the character qualities as described in 1 Timothy 3:1-7. The candidate must be a passionate follower of Jesus Christ and a studier of God’s Word. He will have a shepherd’s heart and love for people, accompanied with good leadership and communication skills. He must meet the qualifications of 1 Tim. 5:17. 

The candidate should be experienced in biblically based preaching that will both feed and challenge the flock in their spiritual growth. This position requires administrative skills that will lead and help develop staff and the elder board. We desire someone gifted in preaching and teaching the Word to a variety of ages and abilities of understanding and to arrange for learning opportunities across a spectrum of biblical themes. The candidate must be able to aid in developing the lay leadership both in their spiritual walk and their leadership qualities.

Minimum requirements:

•   4-year bible college graduate

•  Licensed and ordained minister

 

Job Responsibilities

2.   Prayerfully seek, discern, and articulate vision/direction for the church

3.   Provide leadership, training, and direction to staff and volunteers

4.   Pastoral care

5.   Maintain all social media platforms

6.   Identify community outreach opportunities

7.   Administration

 

Compensation package will include salary and benefits.
